Quoting Shakespeare:

Three or fewer lines (example)

Macbeth’s most interesting line in this act is “Wake Duncan with thy knocking. I would thou / couldst” (II.iii.94-95).

Four or more lines (example)

Lady Macbeth says,

My hands are of your color, but I shame

To wear a heart so white.

          I hear a knocking

At the south entry. Retire we to our chamber. (II.ii.81-84)

Then you go back out to the left margin (don’t begin a new paragraph).
